Multi-Faceted UX + Design Leadership at S-5!

At S-5! I’ve played a key role in shaping and improving user experiences across a wide range of digital initiatives. From ground-up project launches to redesigning internal tools, I’ve been deeply involved in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing user-centric solutions.

What sets my approach apart is my strong focus on research. I rely heavily on heat maps, user session recordings, and analytics to uncover user behavior, preferences, and interaction patterns. This data driven process helps me fine tune designs to ensure they’re both intuitive and effective.

My passion for modern tools, strategic design thinking, and evidence-based decisions has helped drive successful outcomes and create seamless user journeys for S-5!’s diverse audience.

Marketing Site Redesign
UX+UI
In Development

Currently leading the UX and content strategy for a phased redesign of S-5!’s marketing website. My focus is on improving site navigation, streamlining product discovery, and modernizing visual presentation across devices. I’m leveraging heatmaps, scroll depth tracking, and session recordings to inform design decisions and prioritize areas with the highest user drop-off.

Clamp to Seam Tool
UX+UI
Launched

Redesigned the user experience of our interactive clamp selection tool to help customers quickly identify compatible clamps based on their roof profile. I restructured the tool’s logic and visual flow to improve clarity and ease of use. This overhaul contributed to a notable drop in support tickets related to clamp selection and helped drive more qualified leads to our configuration tools.

Behind the Screens: My Process

Design isn’t just about the final interface; it’s about the thinking, research, and iteration behind it. This section offers a look into the tools, methods, and workflows I use daily to create thoughtful, user-centered experiences. From persona creation to wireframing and data-driven optimization, these artifacts represent the core of my process and how I bring clarity to complex problems.

Affinity Diagrams

To make sense of qualitative data, like user interviews and open-ended survey responses. I rely on affinity diagramming. By clustering insights into themes, I’m able to uncover patterns, define user pain points, and turn raw feedback into focused design opportunities. This process is a foundational part of how I translate research into action.

Personas

Personas

Persona's

I develop personas to humanize user data and align the team around real-world goals and frustrations. These personas are based on direct research and analytics, helping guide content, functionality, and tone throughout a project. They keep the user’s perspective front and center at every stage of design.

Customer Journey Mapping

Customer journey mapping enables me to document the full end-to-end experience across digital and physical touchpoints. By plotting each phase of a user's interaction from awareness to decision-making. I can highlight emotional highs/lows, task friction, and UX inconsistencies. I often integrate insights from user research, analytics, and stakeholder interviews to build these maps. This method is essential for identifying service gaps and aligning design decisions with key business goals, especially for multi-step flows like product configuration or content discovery.

Wireframing

Site Maps and User Flows

I use wireframes to define information architecture, interaction patterns, and visual hierarchy before moving into high-fidelity UI. Whether sketching initial ideas or building detailed user flows in Figma, wireframing allows me to iterate quickly, validate concepts early, and communicate clearly with stakeholders and developers. My wireframes often incorporate responsive behavior and design annotations, making them a key bridge between user requirements and developer implementation.
